At the moment I’m developing a proposition to establish an international organisation for drawings in Amsterdam, called The Drawing Collections. The idea is to set up a public-private institution with the support of (inter)national collectors and municipal funding for the exhibitions programme. The programme would consist primarily of drawings by contemporary artists, but could also expand towards outsider art, architectural drawings, historical works, children’s books illustrations, etc. One could say that I wish to continue the position of Museum Overholland, that unfortunately closed its doors in Amsterdam much too soon.
